University College of the North and MCC Partner on First of its Kind Conference in Northern Manitoba

Linkages Nov2For two days in November, close to 300 business and community leaders gathered at the Kikiwak Inn on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation for Linkages 2018 to discuss future economic development opportunities in Northern Manitoba as part of the Look North initiative.

Discussions included Indigenous entrepreneurship, resource development, innovation and connecting the North to the rest of the World.

The highlight of the conference was a keynote address by Murad Al-Katib CEO of AGT Foods and the Arctic Gateway Group who outlined future plans for the rail line to Churchill and the economic opportunities it will bring.
