Policy Resolutions

Policy resolutions are foundational to the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC), embodying our mission to drive sustainable economic growth and prosperity for businesses and communities across Manitoba. Every year, our membership develops policies that reflect the on-the-ground needs of Manitoba businesses.

Focus Areas

Each year, our diverse membership, including businesses, local chambers of commerce, and boards of trade collaborates to develop resolutions that address the specific needs of Manitoba’s business landscape. Our focus areas include:

  • Economic Competitiveness
  • Workforce Development
  • Rural Economic Development and Northern Manitoba
  • Tourism
  • Climate Change
  • Indigenous Issues & Reconciliation

Guidelines for Resolutions

Resolutions submitted to MCC must adhere to our bylaws, ensuring they are:

  • Provincial or National in Scope
  • Timely and Significant
  • Beneficial to Economic and Public Well-being

Resolution Format

Each resolution follows a structured format:

  • Preamble: Provides background information.
  • Resolution: Clearly states the desired action.
  • Argument: Justifies the need for the resolution.

Presenting Resolutions

Resolutions are presented to government officials and relevant bodies, with presentation methods tailored based on timing, legislative developments, or new information affecting the subject matter.

Keeping Members Informed

MCC keeps members updated on resolution progress through summaries and reports published in our official communications throughout the year.
