MBLL: Transparent, accountable, and here for Manitobans

Nov 14, 2025

Think about Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL) and you probably picture a Liquor Mart or one of its casinos.

While these locations are the external face of MBLL, the provincial Crown corporation’s contributions to well-being ripple through Manitoba communities big and small.

This past fiscal year, MBLL returned $730 million in profits to the Province of Manitoba to support essential programs including education, health care, and infrastructure.

The corporation’s products and services further generated $234 million for its many valued business and community partners including First Nations, hotels and restaurants, and private liquor retailers.

“We are committed to being one of the largest contributors to our province and to serve positive experiences proudly and responsibly,” said Gerry Sul, MBLL’s president & CEO.

“Our purpose is to enrich the lives of Manitobans.”

How MBLL and its employees work for the good of Manitobans is at the core of the corporation’s 2024-25 Environmental, Social, and Governance Report. The report shares key information about everything from customer satisfaction to MBLL’s progress with a long-term carbon-reduction strategy.

“Behind the results we’ve achieved are the countless individual choices and actions of employees,” said Sul. “Credit goes to their drive to work with integrity, to succeed, and to get involved.”

Indeed the report profiles how employees take the initiative to improve processes, build their careers, and volunteer for causes dear to their heart – all with MBLL’s backing.

MBLL provided more than $4 million in support to 409 community organizations this past fiscal year. This supported special events and helped not-for profit and charitable organizations delivering programming and services to Manitobans in the areas of arts, culture, sport, health, sustainability, diversity, and a variety of social causes.

“Customers, employees, and other parties increasingly want to know they’re doing business with an organization that does good things.”

The ESG report is where we are not only reporting on our achievements, but also on areas where we have opportunities to improve our results.”
