Meet A Member: Manitoba Association of Women’s Shelters

Feb 21, 2025

The Manitoba Association of Women’s Shelters (MAWS) is a vital voice for women, children, and gender-diverse individuals affected by violence and abuse. As a registered charitable organization, MAWS provides leadership and support to ten provincially funded women’s shelters and associate members working in family violence.

MAWS has been instrumental in strengthening the sector by enhancing collaboration, improving standard practices, advocating for systemic change, and increasing public awareness of domestic abuse. By fostering partnerships and providing essential resources, MAWS ensures that shelters and service providers across Manitoba can offer the best possible support to those in need.
