MCC’s Provincial Pre-Budget Submission | Prioritizing Manitoba’s Economic Growth

Feb 10, 2025

The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce welcomed the opportunity to participate in the 2025 provincial budget consultation process. MCC had a productive conversation with Honourable Adrien Sala, Minister of Finance, bringing forward key recommendations for the upcoming provincial budget to strengthen economic competitiveness, retain youth talent, expand the province’s early childhood education workforce, and invest strategically to grow Manitoba’s economy.

While, trade, the impending threat of tariffs, and the importance of eliminating interprovincial trade barriers served as a backdrop for the discussion, MCC emphasized the importance of prioritizing Manitoba’s economic growth and leveraging the factors within our control. Simply highlighting the opportunities in critical minerals, green energy, and the Port of Churchill is no longer sufficient – we need bold, decisive action and targeted investment to advance these priorities.

The discussion with Minister Sala was constructive, future-focused, and driven by practical solutions – reinforcing the importance of collaboration between government and industry.

We appreciate the Minister’s time and engagement, and look forward to continued collaboration to advance shared priorities that drive economic growth and prosperity for Manitoba.
