A Tradition of Honouring Business Excellence, with a New Focus on Celebrating Champions of our Province
We’re bringing back a tradition of honouring excellence with a new focus on celebrating not just business success stories, but true champions of our province – and we’re doing it all on Manitoba Day. For over three decades, the Manitoba Business Awards held a special place in the hearts of our province’s business community. From 1983 to 2019, the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) recognized outstanding achievements by businesses and individuals who contributed to the economic and social growth of Manitoba. The Manitoba Business Awards were a beacon for success, shining a light on the businesses that shaped the province, from bold startups to established industry leaders.
Past recipients of these prestigious awards include game changers like Hylife, BEHLEN Industries, SkiptheDishes, Bockstael Construction, Farmery Estates Brewery, and Progressive Westman — companies that have demonstrated vision, innovation, and excellence in their respective industries. Their achievements continue to inspire the next generation of business leaders across Manitoba.
The tradition of recognizing excellence in business was further elevated by the Lieutenant Governor’s Awards, first introduced in 2001. These prestigious awards celebrated leaders whose vision, integrity, and entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated the very best practices in business.
Why we’re Bringing it Back: A Celebration of Innovation
We’re proud to announce the return of this incredible celebration after more than five years with the 2025 Manitoba Champions Awards. Set for Manitoba Day – May 12, 2025 – the event will honour those businesses and individuals who have been true trailblazers in their fields. It’s a renewed opportunity to celebrate those who are not only driving economic growth but are also dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities and across the province.
Focusing on Future Champions
This year, MCC is introducing a renewed focus on Future Champions — those whose innovation, leadership, and passion are setting the stage for tomorrow. These are the game changers, the risk-takers, and the bold thinkers who are transforming Manitoba’s landscape for the better, while embodying the believe that Manitoba is the best place to live, work and grow.
The world is changing fast, and so is the role businesses play in shaping our future. Future Champions are the ones using their influence to drive real social and economic innovation. They’re the leaders who see the potential for positive change and make it happen, often against the odds. These champions are demonstrating best practices, not just in business, but in creating sustainable growth, fostering inclusive communities, and protecting our environment.
As a province, we all benefit when these innovators and visionaries are recognized. When we highlight the impact they have — both within their businesses and in the broader community — we set a standard for excellence and inspire others to follow in their footsteps and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our province. That’s why it’s crucial for us to continue this tradition of recognition, and why we are so excited to bring back the Manitoba Champions Awards.
