DAVIDSON APPOINTED CO-CHAIR OF SOUTHERN MANITOBA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION

Dec 2, 2019

On Tuesday, November 26, 2019, The Honourable Ralph Eichler, Minister of Economic Development and Training, named board appointments who will be charged with establishing a new economic development office based in Brandon. Chuck Davidson, President & CEO, Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, was appointed co-chair, alongside Joe Masi, President, Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM).

The board will work to establish a new rural economic development office, which will act as a hub for collaboration with economic development agencies in Brandon and throughout southern Manitoba. The government’s Our Manitoba Works Plan has established a target of 40,000 new private-sector jobs in the province and a key part of that plan is attracting new investment in southern Manitoba. The new office is based on input from both the AMM and the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, who led a consultation process with economic development organizations and regional partners.
