MCC President and CEO Chuck Davidson was in Brandon last week to participate in the inaugural Grow Brandon Summit which brought together business, government, educational and community leaders from the Westman area.
The Grow Brandon initiative which began as an initiative of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce has set a bold goal to grow the population in Brandon to 80,000 by 20240
Over the next three years, Grow Brandon will receive $300,000 from PrairiesCan, $150,000 from the Manitoba government and $125,000 from the City of Brandon. These funds are earmarked for the Grow Brandon Partnership, a multi-stakeholder initiative that brings together representatives from all levels of government, academic institutions, Indigenous organizations, and the private sector.
The focus of the partnership will be to establish annual economic summits to align stakeholders, showcase the Brandon area as a business destination of choice, and develop sector-specific initiatives to attract new investments to the region.
