Manitoba Chambers of Commerce Statement on Reconciliation and Partnerships

Sep 29, 2025

At the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce, we recognize that our work takes place on the traditional lands of Indigenous Peoples, whose histories, cultures, and contributions have shaped – and continue to shape – our province.

As we mark National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day) tomorrow, we reaffirm our commitment to economic reconciliation through meaningful relationships that respect and honour Indigenous rights while opening opportunities for Indigenous-led businesses to thrive.

Prosperity for Manitoba must encompass the prosperity of Indigenous Peoples. The economic growth we strive toward must be grounded in equity, respect, and shared benefit. By working alongside Indigenous leaders, entrepreneurs, and communities, we can build a future where growth is inclusive, opportunity is accessible, and the benefits of prosperity are shared by all Manitobans.
