Manitoba Chambers of Commerce President & CEO Chuck Davidson, along with Manitoba Green Advantage Program Director Christa Rust, recently participated in the Food, Fuel and Fertilizer Global Summit in Regina hosted by the Saskatchewan Chambers of Commerce.

The two-day event brought together over 400 industry leaders, policymakers and innovators and was highlighted by discussions with Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, CN Rail CEO Tracy Robinson, AGT Foods CEO Murad Al-Katib, Canpotex CEO Gordon McKenzie and Richardson International SVP, Corporate Affairs Jean-Marc Ruest.

MCC CEO Chuck Davidson participated in a panel discussion with Canadian Chamber of Commerce CEO Candace Laing, Alberta Chambers of Commerce CEO Shauna Feth and Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce CEO Prabha Ramaswamy focused on building Canada’s future through trade, economic growth and global competitiveness.

The common theme throughout the event was the need for strategic infrastructure investments to enhance potential trade opportunities and the importance of increasing productivity in Canada. There was also a clear message that the next Federal government needs to create greater sense of urgency and focus on growing the economy based on the advantages that Western Canada offers.

The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce was also invited and introduced along with senior officials from the Arctic Gateway Group at the Saskatchewan Legislature by Carrot River Valley MLA Terri Bromm.
