Uncertainty and challenges surrounding U.S. trade relations affect businesses across all of Manitoba, and we want to hear from our members and Manitoba companies from every corner of the province. The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) travelled to Steinbach last week to kick off a series of roundtable discussions inviting local business representatives to share their thoughts, concerns and questions with us first-hand.
We partnered with the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce (SCC) to co-host the discussion on the potential impact of tariffs, with SCC members at the table representing eight different local industries. MCC’s President & CEO, Chuck Davidson and Elisabeth Saftiuk, Vice-President, Policy & Government Relations, led the discussion, along with SCC Executive Director Tessa Masi and Vice-President Eugene Warwaruk.
As part of this valuable two-way conversation, Davidson and Saftiuk talked about the importance of Manitoba businesses focusing what they can control, maintaining consistent messaging, and continuing to educate themselves on the importance of trade relationships on both sides of the border.

We’re planning to visit more communities around Manitoba for local roundtables on trade relations in the coming weeks. If you’d like us to consider hosting a roundtable in your community, please send us a message through our Trade Portal or contact your local Chamber of Commerce.
