Get to Know Barry:

Q: What inspired you to join the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce board, and what impact do you hope to make?

A: I had the privilege of working in the Brandon Chamber and with the MCC before joining this Board.  I feel it is important that MCC has representation from all parts of Manitoba. I have a strong background in Agriculture and hope to bring some of my experiences to this Board.

Q: What is one key challenge or opportunity you see for businesses in Manitoba right now?

A: Costs to operate business have continued to create challenges for business. Inflation on inputs and labour costs are front of mind. MCC has a strong role in helping government understand how their decisions impact business success.

Q: What is one piece of career advice that has shaped your professional journey?

A: People will help you if you treat them with respect and kindness.  You also have a responsibility to pass that knowledge on to those following you, with respect and kindness.
