Get to Know Bev

Q: What inspired you to join the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce board, and what impact do you hope to make?

A: I have always appreciated the collective impact that the MCC has influenced and inspired across Manitoba business and industry. I wanted to be a contributor to this important work. I hope to bring my years of experience working in the private, public and non-profit sectors to the MCC.

Q: What is one key challenge or opportunity you see for businesses in Manitoba right now?

A: A challenge and opportunity is one and the same. Manitoba is falling behind with attracting, retaining, reskilling and upskilling its labour talent pool. We must invest in our skilled labour force – without skilled workers our economy will not grow. New businesses will not see Manitoba as a viable option to consider investing in. We will not be a globally competitive province.

Q: What is one piece of career advice that has shaped your professional journey?

A: My mom gave me this advice:  Do What You Love – Love What You Do. You need to be passionate about the work you do.
