MCC Welcomes Christa Rust as Program Director of Manitoba’s Green Advantage Project

Christa is a seasoned environmental leader and change advocate with nearly two decades of experience in progressively senior leadership positions. With a solid foundation in natural resource and environmental management, Christa has navigated her career with a steadfast commitment to fostering sustainable practices and driving meaningful change towards a greener future. 

Throughout her tenure at Reclay StewardEdge, the International Institute of Sustainable Development, and the Mikisew Cree First Nation Industry Relations Corporation, Christa has demonstrated her expertise in strategic planning, program leadership, stakeholder engagement, and financial management. Her innovative project management approach and impactful policy development have significantly contributed to environmental advocacy and the adoption of sustainable community practices. 

Now, embarking on a new chapter, Christa has joined the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce in the role of Director of Manitoba Green Advantage. In this capacity, Christa will spearhead the development of an evidence-based narrative on Manitoba’s Green Advantage. This narrative will serve as a catalyst to inform local leaders, attract and secure investments required to realize green opportunities, and advance key government policies and programs. 

Furthermore, Christa will take charge of overseeing the development and implementation of a Manitoba SME green assessment program. Through this initiative, financial assistance will be extended to 60 SMEs across the province, empowering them with the essential knowledge and resources needed to invest in sustainable practices. By fostering their active involvement, Christa aims to ensure that these businesses become integral contributors to Manitoba’s green advantage, thereby nurturing the province’s sustainable growth and prosperity.
