New Code. New Incentives.

This January, the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) 2020 came into effect in Manitoba. Efficiency Manitoba’s New Buildings Program is here to help navigate the new energy code with increased incentives, supports, and expertise to help save energy and money.

What can the New Buildings Program do for you?

The new energy code can come with new challenges, but we’re here to help. We’ve increased our energy modelling incentive from $10,000 to $12,000 to help offset the cost of energy modelling services.  Energy modelling can help identify opportunities for energy efficiency early on, simulating a variety of building details, such as roof and wall construction, lighting power densities, domestic hot water usage, heating and ventilation systems, occupancy schedules, and more. Efficiency Manitoba can help your project team navigate the energy code, receive higher incentives, and save more energy.

We’ve also increased our performance path incentive. We offer between $0.60 to $3.50 per square foot based on achieved energy savings between 5% to 30% above the energy code.

Additionally, when participating in the New Buildings Program, your team has access to technical assistance and guidance that can help with constructing an energy-efficient building.

Save today. Save tomorrow.

Ultimately, if your team is designing and constructing a new commercial building, we’re here to help you save energy and money. Find out all the ways to save with our New Buildings Program at efficiencyMB.ca/newbuildings
