The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce is pleased that Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew has invited MCC President and CEO Chuck Davidson and MCC Board member Sachit Mehra, owner East India Company Restaurants to participate as members of the newly established Premier’s Business and Jobs Council.

Premier Kinew indicated that “The members of this council bring with them a range of experiences from different regions and sectors of our province. The Premier’s Business and Jobs Council is an important opportunity for Manitobans from all walks of life to come together at the table, share their expertise and come up with creative solutions to the economic challenges we face today.”

The 36-person council also includes Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Loren Remillard, Brandon Chamber of Commerce General Manager Connor Ketchen and Black Manitoba Chamber of Commerce President and Founder Zita Somakoko.

The council’s work will build on the priorities Manitobans have shared with the government, strengthening Manitoba’s low-carbon, diverse economy while creating good family-supporting jobs across the province, the premier noted.
