Summer Chamber Tours: Altona & District Chamber of Commerce

Aug 21, 2023

Last week members of the Manitoba Chambers staff continued our summer chamber tours and met with the Altona and District Chamber of Commerce.

The group toured Elmer’s Manufacturing Ltd. which designs, develops and manufactures specialized agricultural equipment. Owning and operating their own farm, Elmer’s understand what farmers need and want out of equipment that helps them be more productive and profitable.

Next up was Sun Valley Co-op and a meeting with General Manager, Brad Iverson. Like Co-ops across Manitoba, they are more than just a gas bar or a food store. They are a group of people working together to help their neighbours and build their community.

Established in 1907, Friesens Corporation is employee owned and operated. The Canadian printer of three Harry Potter books, Chamber staff met with CEO, Chad Friesen and heard about their book and yearbook division as well as think4D consumer packaging.

The team also had a lunch meeting with the Mayor of Altona, Harv Schroder, the Deputy Mayor, Donna Rosling-Wolters, and the Reeve of Rhineland, Don Wiebe.

Thank you to the Altona & District Chamber of Commerce for taking time to show us around your community!
