Local Chamber Leaders Appointed to Economic Immigration Council

The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce is pleased to recognize Stephen Chychota, executive director of the Parkland Chamber of Commerce/MCC Board Member and Stephanie Harris, board member of the Altona & District Chamber of Commerce and economic development officer for the Town of Altona and the Municipality of Rhineland, as appointments to the provincial Advisory Council on Economic Immigration and Settlement (ACEIS).   

The Council goal is to provide leadership on economic immigration and settlement in Manitoba and to co-ordinate and oversee the implementation of the Manitoba government’s Immigration Advisory Council (IAC) recommendations including the development of a provincial economic immigration and settlement strategy.   

Immigration and settlement are vital to the Manitoba economy and the ongoing workforce challenges. The Chambers are committed to working with all levels of government to expand immigration intakes and extend regional immigration programs to improve access to in-demand workers in communities across the province.
