Finalists for Milestone Awards Celebration of Business Announced

For the 35th year, the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) will gather businesses together from across the province to celebrate the stories and companies that make our province special. Today, MCC is pleased to announce the finalists for the upcoming, milestone edition of the Manitoba Business Awards.

Established in 1983, the awards recognize and celebrate outstanding businesses and individual achievements by the Manitoba business community. Each year, awards are given to businesses and/or people who contribute to Manitoba’s employment; have a successful employee relations department; have seen sustainable growth; and been involved in the province’s community development. Additional consideration is given to nominees demonstrating exceptional achievements for overcoming unique obstacles.

For this year’s 35th edition, the finalists for the only awards that encompass the entire province are:

Outstanding Social Enterprise

Outstanding Small Business

Outstanding Medium Business

Outstanding Large Business

Long-Term Achievement

This year, the Manitoba Business Awards will introduce two new categories that showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of our business community and the importance of workplace safety.

Entrepreneur of the Year

Workers Compensation Board Return to Work Award

“The business community in Manitoba continues to produce world-class products and services,” said Chuck Davidson, MCC president and CEO. “Through the awards, we hope to introduce Manitobans to the homegrown stories and companies that are making our province the best place to live, work, and call home.”

The 35th Manitoba Business Awards will be presented on Friday, October 26 at the Fairmont Winnipeg and hosted by Global National Anchor Dawna Friesen. Born in Winnipeg, Friesen grew up on a farm and studied communications and journalism at Red River College. In 2009, she received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Red River College.
