The Awards program is a competitive research grant open to all researchers interested in psychiatric diseases and mental illness, including physicians, academics and pharmacists. Michigan State University to Lead Shared Collaboration on Global Food Safety

The Global Food Safety – China Program (GFS–CP) has benefited from support provided by Cargill, General Mills, Pfizer Animal Health and Danone who regard science-based standards, guidelines and recommendations as key to protecting public health and minimizing food-borne illness. Numerous intergovernmental and not-for-profit organizations along with many food-focused companies are also contributing expertise and in-kind support. Pfizer Canada Reaches $50 Million Milestone in Donations of Medicine

In 2010 alone, Pfizer Canada donated more than $3 million in medicines. More than $1.5 million in antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and anti-fungals were given to help treat survivors of the earthquake in Haiti. Other medicines were donated for HPIC’s Physician Travel Pack program, which equips Canadian healthcare workers with primary care medicines for short term medical missions. Ripples of Hope Pfizer Award Granted To Two Dedicated Researchers

Pfizer Canada is pleased to announce that this year’s Ripples of Hope Award will be given to two individuals for their outstanding work in the areas of Mental Health and Rare Diseases. Safia Ladha is currently working towards a Masters in Science at the University of British Columbia in her pursuit of a career in Medical Genetics. Dr. Amber Southwell is a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics and is conducting research for the treatment of Huntington Disease (HD). 2010 Pfizer Cardiovascular Research Awards Recipients Announced

Since its inception, The Pfizer Cardiovascular Research Awards Program has supported independent cardiovascular research in the areas of basic, biomedical and clinical sciences, patient care enhancement, epidemiology and outcomes research. 2010 marks the seventh round of Awards recipients. Over the years, the program has developed partnership awards with leading national health charities: The Canadian Hypertension Society, The Kidney Foundation of Canada and The Ontario Lung Association, in order to increase research funding in their specific areas of interest. A young Quebec investigator award was also created with the CardioVascular Health Network of the Fond de la Recherche en Santé Québec (FRSQ).
