TRIP 2.0 Delivers huge boost for Manitoba’s hospitality & tourism industries

In total, the three phases of TRIP generated direct, trackable spending on hotels and attractions of $7.8 million. But even more significant, participants who responded to a 2021 post-initiative survey estimated their total trip spend at approximately $510 – for an estimated economic boost of more than $16.8 million.

Dine-In Restaurant Relief Program Hailed a “Delicious” Success Story

Targeted support to dine-in restaurants required to close to in-person service due to COVID-19 prevention orders and who chose to shift to a delivery model. In partnership with the Manitoba Restaurant & Foodservices Association, the program morphed into three phases with expanded intake criteria to include a broader range of affected foodservices businesses.

Manitoba businesses upskill or train more than 18,000 employees with $12.5 million program

1,365 Manitoba businesses received reimbursements to train or upskill 18,086 employees through a wide range of courses including in-person, online and industry-recognized courses by third-party trainers. Of the 1,365 businesses, 87 per cent were small businesses (with 0 to 99 employees).
