As a resident of Manitoba, you likely have already considered the potential impact of climate change on your family’s future. But as a business owner or operator, have you also considered the impact of climate change on your business? On family farms? On tourism and weather-dependent operations?
The Winnipeg-based International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is partnering with the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) to raise awareness within the province’s community of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of what climate change will mean to their business. The project — which includes a brief online survey — will help uncover the barriers to climate action that exist, and outline the types of supports needed by SMEs to take climate actions that help reduce carbon emissions and make companies more resilient in the face of climate change.
Our goal: to collect valuable information that will help us create practical, online information resources and tools for Manitoba SMEs so you can plan and adapt to climate change impacts and opportunities. The resulting data will also be used by governments in their own planning to help work with SMEs on our common climate challenge.
Do you represent a SME? If so, we invite you to complete our brief survey here.
