New Look and Direction for Manitoba’s Voice of Business

Dec 6, 2017 | Chamber News

Over the last five years, the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) have undergone tremendous change and growth. From a renewed focus on policy development, multiple advocacy successes, to more profound engagement and strengthening from our 71 local Chambers, the foundation in which to build on the Chamber movement in our province is set for years to come. After working to improve the internal structures within MCC, the last year has been spent on the next evolution of our soon to be 87-year-old organization. Helmed by past chair of the board of directors, Kyle Romaniuk, and the development team at Vantage Studios, a new, modern look was developed and unveiled on December 6, 2017.

The new logo is intended to provide a distinctive mark that in time will become instantly recognizable and embody all of the attributes of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce.

The icon design was inspired by a number of elements:

  • a meeting place with an open door;
  • a ribbon that connects people, businesses, industries, and communities;
  • being ‘The Voice of Business’ a large speech bubble represents the collective voice of our businesses;
  • the inner speech bubble represents the distillation of the issues important to our community;
  • the ceremonious ribbon-cutting in honour of celebrating new business launches and expansions; and
  • the support and encouragement for government to cut red tape.

The overall look and feel are intended to help form a strong and credible first-impression and meet the expectations of those that already hold high praise for the organization today.

The brand has been developed with the objective to help the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce showcase the pride felt from within, but also now expressed on the outside.

From a Vantage Studios perspective, the hope is that the potential of the Chamber is given a bit of a lift. Building towards higher goals being attained in less time, leading to increased attraction to the network. The new brand can help play a role of the Chamber and its network being better understood, and, in some small way, maybe this brand helps make Manitoba an even greater place to live and work, thanks to efforts and dedication of The Chamber and every individual Chamber member.
