On January 1st, 1997, the Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) was formed to manage and operate the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport. WAA connects Manitoba with the world. Managing the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, the 7th largest airport in Canada and the main transportation asset in central Canada, they handle nearly 4 million passengers per year, while employing 170 staff. In addition, WAA is a significant economic driver in the region, with over $3.6 billion in economic output and by generating 20,000 jobs for our community.
