The Senior Database Administrator at CancerCare Manitoba Foundation oversees and leads the information systems team to ensure performance and standard levels are maintained for the organization.  With a solid foundation in computer literacy and a commitment to continuing education, the Senior Database Administrator will develop and implement programs and educational activities designed to enhance skills with the intent to optimize team performance and donation stewardship.

The Role:

  • Maintain the integrity of the organization’s information systems
  • Review operational and administrative procedures pertaining to the department to optimize effectiveness; implement improvements as necessary
  • Train team members with the intent of continuous improvement
  • Develop a complete and comprehensive knowledge of all functions of information management and analysis
  • Develop and implement procedures for tracking results for measuring program effectiveness
  • Commit to continuing education by developing skills through seminars, workshops, training, etc.
  • Collaborate with the organization’s development and events team and actively participate in staff meetings, department meetings, projects and event activities
  • Prepare project reports and monthly reports
  • Build and maintain a positive reputation for the organization through the provision of excellent customer service
  • Assist with other duties as part of a team effort to achieve overall organizational goals

  • You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • You are a team builder and have strong management experience
  • You  have strong computer literacy skills and experience with a range of software
  • You have experience with information software, best practices and procedures, and metrics
  • You are solutions-oriented and enjoy providing quality service to internal and external stakeholders
  • You are solutions-oriented and have a strong attention to detail
  • You have advanced customer service skills
  • You know how to help a team be more successful
  • You have excellent team leaderships skills, particularly with respect to coaching and performance management
  • You have excellent communication skills and a demonstrated collaborative approach to working within an organization
  • You are a team player that works well in a professional environment
  • You have some bookkeeping/accounting knowledge and experience
