There is no shortage of good Manitoba business news to share with other business organizations looking to learn more about our province. So was the case when a group of 30 businesses with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kutch, a district of Gujarat state in India, toured Manitoba last week, organized by Manitoba Trade and Investment.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kutch was formed in June 2004 with motto to support industrial units spread all over Kutch district. They work as a bridge between industry and Government agencies with positive attitude. The areas main industries are focused around agriculture and mining and extend to ceramics, steel, power, wind energy, transports, container terminal and warehousing. Theirs is the only district in the world where desert, sea and mountain together are blessed by the nature.

The group toured and met with businesses and local chamber officials in Brandon, Portage and Morden and Winnipeg, introducing themselves and looking to establish relationships with business partners for potential future trade. During their meeting with MCC both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding that looks to advance the development of a working relationship and open dialogue in regards to potential trading opportunities, introducing each partner to other businesses that can help promote and foster trade between the two chambers and their partners.

(L-R) MCC President Chuck Davidson                                                                         and Kutch Chamber President Rajesh Bhatt
