Recapping the 2013 Canadian Chamber of Commerce AGM

Oct 7, 2013 | Chamber News

We recently wrapped up a successful Canadian Chamber of Commerce annual general meeting in Kelowna.  A big thanks to the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce for their generous support.

Over the course of the AGM, delegates heard from BMO Economist Doug Porter on the current state of our economy and where he sees it trending. B.C. Premier Christie Clark also addressed the AGM and gave an impassioned speech on the future of her province and how it can trickle down to help the Canadian economy.  Moving forward, we will continue to address the barriers to Canadian competitiveness, particularly the barriers surrounding skills, infrastructure, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Lastly, we had lively debate on 68 resolutions, developed by member Chambers of Commerce/boards of trade and policy committees. While we have time to review them with our members in the weeks to come, but we invite you to review list of approved resolutions posted at the following link.
