The Finance Manager will provide support to program managers and directors in terms of budget development, claims submission, and reporting to external stakeholders. The Finance Manager is also responsible for management and administration of all the organization’s general financial affairs.

The Role:

æ  Manage and administer the day-to-day financial policies and procedures.

æ  Develop and implement financial and administrative policies and procedures.

æ  Establish, monitor and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards to ensure activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory and internal policies.

æ  Prepare and ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly financial statements for each program area as well as work with managers to develop program budgets that fit within the overall organization budget.

æ  Ensure that compliance with all external reporting such as GST returns, tax returns and lobbyist reporting is met.

æ  Provide strategic analysis, input and advice as required to drive improved decision making.

æ  Work with the external auditors to ensure that the annual financial audit is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

æ  Review, analyze and make recommendations on the financial implication of project and activity proposals.

æ  Work with senior management to identify and attract diverse sources of revenue.

æ  Manage and administer the Payroll and Human Resource functions.


You and Your Experience:

æ  You have completed post-secondary education in a financial, accounting or business discipline.

æ  You have your CA or CMA designation.

æ  You have had 2-5 years of experience in a finance management role.

æ  You have a strong business acumen coupled with sharp analytical skills in both a financial and operational capacity.

æ  You are an exceptional organizer and enjoy working in fast-paced, team environment.

æ  You have excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.

æ  You have strong attention to detail and are a highly productive professional who excels at problem solving.

æ  You have strong interpersonal and leadership skills and have the proven ability to manage a multitude of internal and external relationships in a high pressure environment.
