2012 Lieutenant-Governor’s Award Recipient for Outstanding Contribution by a Business to the Community

 The Dufresne Group, or TDG, is one of the largest, independent regional furniture chains in Canada. With 23 locations and two brands, it is a Canadian success story; managing a buying group of some 94 retailers across the country while providing wholesale products to the North West Company.

After consistently showing an annual profit for over 25 years, the Dufresne Group is especially proud of its distinction as a consecutive 13-time winner of the 50 Best Managed Company Award in Canada. This includes its membership in the prestigious Platinum Club which recognizes TDG’s strategic and financial growth and the high degree of respect it shows to its staff, partners and community.

In 2011, TDG’s buying group, Dufresne Retail Solutions Group, was honoured as the Retailer of the Year by Canada’s National Home Furnishing Association in addition to this evening’s recognition as the 2012 Lieutenant-Governor’s Award Recipient for Outstanding Contribution by a Business to the Community.

Since it began 25 years ago, the Dufresne Group has remained true to its corporate vision; which is to build the best home furnishing company in Canada. So too, is it true to the firm’s ongoing mission to lead the furniture industry by delivering on its brand promises while honouring and maintaining its original values of people, promise, performance and passion.

In 2011, TDG contributed $1,691,000 to charities related to women, children and health care both here in Manitoba and across Canada.
