How A New Local Website Is Simplifying Community Based Communication

Jun 3, 2012 | Business News and Tips

Manitoba communities have all been given a new method of online communication. A free website, www.community-info.ca helps any community member or nonprofit organization share ideas, promote events and have discussions relevant to their community. A full list of all the Manitoba community websites can be found at: myci.ca.

After the original launch in Ile Des Chenes and St Adolphe, where it has gained a great reputation, Community-info has now been made available to all Manitoba communities.

Posting events, or starting new discussions on your community’s website will automatically send an update to all the registered users, this creates more awareness and gets more people involved in the community.

After having moved to Ile Des Chenes, I felt disconnected, not knowing what was going on. I decided to do something about it. I created a website which allows all members of the community to chat, announce their events and even try to sell their old items in the classifieds” said Eric Boisjoli, one of the Community-info creators. “Then I realized this would be useful in any community.”

Community-info is committed to providing a free online solution to all communities. They promote community spirit by getting its members involved and active. By doing so, we are encouraging community development and growth and also allowing local groups and businesses to promote their services to a larger audience.

There are already over 460 community websites setup in Manitoba alone, if you’d like more information or to find your community website, visit myci.ca.
