SNC-Lavalin acquires Interfleet Technology

SNC-Lavalin (TSX: SNC) is pleased to announce that it has acquired Interfleet Technology, an international rail technology consultancy group headquartered in Derby, United Kingdom.

Interfleet specializes in rolling stock, railway systems, and strategic railway management and is well-known for its detailed understanding of both national rail systems and international best-practice.

“Interfleet’s specialized expertise, complementary geographic presence and reputation for innovation are a strong addition to SNC-Lavalin’s service offering, particularly given the great growth potential in the rail sector worldwide,” said Jim Burke, Executive Vice President, SNC-Lavalin Group, “This acquisition, combined with our existing expertise in major rail projects, supports our long-term strategic plan for growth in this sector. Founded in 1994 during UK rail privatization, Interfleet has grown during the last 15 years from a single UK office of 90 employees to almost 600 staff in 22 locations. Interfleet serves public and private clients around the world from its offices in United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Central Europe, Australasia, India and North America.
