Bill McFarland Leads PwC Canada as new CEO and Senior Partner

Bill McFarland has been chosen as the new Chief Executive Officer and Senior Partner for the professional services firm PwC Canada. He began his duties July 1, 2011 taking over from Chris Clark, who was CEO and Senior Partner from 2005-2011.

McFarland started his career as an auditor with Price Waterhouse in 1980. He became a partner in 1992 and was the audit and assurance leader in the Greater Toronto Area from 2002-2005. He is a former National Managing Partner and member of the Canadian Executive Team at PwC from 2005 – 2011. Most recently he had executive oversight for the firm’s consulting and deals, tax and private company services practices.

McFarland has been the lead audit or relationship partner for numerous multinational clients over the years. Some of his key focus areas as National Managing Partner were to ensure the delivery of quality services to clients, further develop strong relationships with the business community and to increase the firm’s presence in its priority markets.

McFarland will be based in PwC Canada’s Toronto head office. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and is a CA. He is currently a director of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and has served on the boards of a number of charities over the years. He is married with three children.
