“This merger is a great fit and we are thrilled to have Rob and his team join us. Not only will we be strengthening our insolvency practice by gaining additional expertise and resources in communities we already operate in but we will also be helping clients regain financial balance in Etobicoke and Woodbridge ,” said Daryl Ritchie, CEO, MNP. “This is an exciting opportunity, but our top priority at the moment is to work closely with Stern Cohen Shier Inc. to ensure all clients and team members experience a smooth transition.”

MNP also announced in May that Herpers Chagani Gowling Inc. (310-DEBT), a southwestern Ontario-based insolvency firm, will merge with MNP August 1. With these recent mergers, MNP will now deliver a wide range of insolvency services to help individuals and corporations successfully manage financial issues from more than 90 locations across Canada.

“MNP has a client-focused approach and an unwavering commitment to employees and clients. We were looking to join a firm that shares our vision, values and dedication to providing quality services,” said Shier. “MNP’s insolvency practice, MNP Limited, has been helping individuals and businesses across Canada manage their financial problems for more than 40 years. As such, this is a practice area MNP’s team excels in and we are very excited about working together to provide our expertise to more people and businesses in more communities.”

Ritchie acknowledged that trying to deal with financial issues can be very stressful.

“There are a number of reasons why people and businesses may find themselves in financial trouble, but there is help. A Trustee will outline all of your options so you choose a solution that works for you. Together, Stern Cohen Shier and MNP are here to help people and businesses resolve their financial troubles and get back on solid financial ground.”

Shier and his team will remain in their current resident office location at 45 St. Clair Avenue West, Suite 1200 until further notice.
