The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is proud to announce that BDC Consulting has obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification for the design, development and provision of innovative consulting services for businesses. The sixty BDC business centres in Canada that offer consulting services are covered by the certification.

“Canadian entrepreneurs need strong partners to help them develop and implement their growth plans,” said Edmée Métivier, BDC Executive Vice President, Financing and Consulting. “By obtaining ISO 9001:2008 certification, we are setting up a continuous quality improvement system with a view to better helping entrepreneurs carry out their business projects. For entrepreneurs who use BDC Consulting, this certification is testimony to our continued commitment to quality and consistent service from coast to coast.”

ISO 9001:2008 is an international standard for quality management practices. The objective is to help organizations meet their customers’ expectations and requirements. Under the ISO 9001:2008 standard, the certified organization must continuously measure its ability to respond to customer requirements such as meeting deadlines and providing quality products and services.

“BDC Consulting has long promoted the merits of ISO certification to entrepreneurs because it gives them a greater competitive edge both nationally and globally,” added Edmée Métivier. “To date we have helped more than 3,500 businesses obtain their certification. Now we are better equipped than ever to help entrepreneurs meet this standard.”
