Scotiabank’s Canadian mobile banking service recognized in the Distribution/Channel Management component of 2011 Celent Model Bank Award
Scotiabank’s Canadian mobile banking service has won the 2011 Celent Model Bank Award, for innovative and effective technology usage in banking. Celent is a research and consulting firm focused on the application of information technology in the global financial services industry.

Scotiabank is among 18 other banks from around the world that were selected as having technology initiatives that demonstrate those six components considered to make up a ‘Model Bank’. Scotiabank was honoured in the Distribution/Channel Management category. The remaining five components of a Model Bank include: Infrastructure and Architecture, Product Development, Marketing/Sales/Customer Service, Transaction Processing and, Security and Risk Management.

Scotiabank will be accepting the award today in Atlanta at the Celent 2011 Banking Innovation & Insight Day.
