Manitoba Lotteries Remains One of Canada’s Best Employers for Promoting Diversity

For the second consecutive year, Manitoba Lotteries is ranked as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers. Manitoba Lotteries is one of only 45 employers selected from of a field of over 2,700 to receive the national designation for 2011. The recognition is bestowed by the editorial team of Canada’s Top 100 Employers award.

Manitoba Lotteries maintains this ranking through a wide range of employee programs that support and promote workplace diversity – from initial orientation to ongoing training, awareness events, community outreach projects, post-secondary scholarships, mentorships, an Aboriginal internship program and more.

Manitoba Lotteries maintains a diverse workplace. Among its approximately 1,900 employees, 52% are women, with visible minorities comprising over 31% of the workforce, persons with disabilities comprising 2% and Aboriginal employees comprising over 11%. All employment postings are shared with equity organizations, and employment equity is a factor in the recruitment process.

Manitoba Lotteries also continues to be one of Manitoba’s Top 25 Employers, a ranking the corporation has achieved for five consecutive years.
