PwC is pleased to announce nominations are now open for the first annual 2011 Innovator of the Year Award, a key part of PwC’s Vision to Reality Awards program that celebrates growth and innovation in Canada’s emerging technology sector. The 2011 Innovator of the Year Award will acknowledge the Canadian company that has best demonstrated both the development of an innovative technology solution and the commercialization of that solution. The innovation must be new, unique and a ‘game changer’ – with demonstrated customer acceptance.

Interested companies are encouraged to visit www.pwc.com/ca/vision2reality between now and March 31, 2011 to complete the online nomination form which includes providing a brief description of the company, its products/services, revenues to date and expected revenue growth. Anyone associated with a successful technology company can submit a nomination, including employees, corporate advisors and financiers.
Once the nomination phase is closed, a shortlist of companies will be selected by an independent panel of judges based on a review of the nomination forms. From this stage a group of finalists will be announced on April 26, 2011. Winners will be announced on May 2, 2011 and honoured at PwC’s 2011 Connecting Vision to Reality Conference on May 11, 2011.
Finalists are evaluated by an independent panel of judges based on in person discussions with management about the technology, results to date and criteria including vision and leadership, financial accomplishment and strategic direction.
