On February 8, 2011 the Project Management Institute (PMI) announced the winner of Manitoba’s Project of the Year for 2011. The winner of the 2011 PMI Manitoba Project of the Year is:
OPAL Project, from the Faculty of Medicine, U of M and Online Business Systems
For the past 7 years, PMI Manitoba has recognized and honoured the “Best of the Best” of “Made in Manitoba” projects. This is Manitoba’s premiere project management event and took place at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The Honourable Philip S. Lee and Honourable Peter Bjornson, Minister of Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade addressed the crowd and were on hand to congratulate the winning team and organization.
2nd place went to The PIPP Infrastructure Project from Manitoba Public Insurance. Other finalists included:
- Emergency Department Development Phase 1 Relocation Project – WRHA; Victoria General Hospital
- Outlook Project – Manitoba eHealth
- Regional Pharmacy Expansion – WRHA; Manitoba eHealth
