MTS Allstream today unveiled that March 31 is the official launch date of its new HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access) wireless network that will deliver cellular voice and high-speed wireless data coverage of up to 21 Mbps to 97 per cent of Manitobans. MTS is investing more than $100 million in the new HSPA+ network to provide MTS customers in urban centers and rural areas throughout Manitoba with faster download speeds, access to an exciting new lineup of smartphones and handsets, and extensive international roaming on compatible GSM and HSPA networks.
Also coming soon to MTS wireless customers across the province is the opportunity to sign-up for new, exclusive MTS bundled service offerings that no other service provider in Manitoba can match, making MTS’s wireless offers even more attractive.
“All of us at MTS are incredibly excited about bringing this next generation of wireless service to our Manitoba customers, which will give them faster data speeds as well as access to the best available national and international roaming,” said Kelvin Shepherd, President of MTS. “We offer Manitoba residents the broadest and most flexible bundling capabilities, the best dealer distribution network and superior customer service – all under the MTS brand that they have come to know and trust.”
The new HSPA+ network will provide MTS customers with extensive and reliable coverage in Manitoba, faster speeds than ever before and deliver next-generation broadband wireless services to 97 per cent of the population. Outside of Manitoba, MTS HSPA+ customers will be able to roam in more than 200 countries around the world.
MTS will also continue to sell and support an exciting lineup of its CDMA based handsets and operate its current CDMA wireless network in Manitoba to support existing MTS customers and carry other wireless roaming traffic. The combination of HSPA+ and CDMA uniquely positions MTS to have the widest array of wireless solutions for Manitobans.
“When combined with our other services and capabilities, our new HSPA+ network provides MTS with a tremendous competitive advantage over any other provider in Manitoba,” Shepherd said. “We’ve invested more than $100 million in HSPA+, which opens the door for a greater variety of innovative products, services and bundles which will ensure MTS continues to be Manitoba’s leading provider of residential and business telecommunications services.”
More information about the full range of new service bundles and exciting new smartphones and handsets will be available in the weeks and months ahead as the March 31 launch date approaches. Please visit our website at www.mts.ca/hspa for more information.
