At this year’s HiE, Cargill will present Truvia™ rebiana for the first time within Europe, alongside a range of other sophisticated new concepts, including Cargill’s Zerose™ erythritol, Barlív™ barley betafiber and other elements from Cargill’s wider portfolio of heart health solutions, weight management options and cholesterol reducers.
Truvia™ rebiana1 is a great-tasting zero-calorie intense sweetener, 200 times sweeter than sugar, which is derived from a natural source: the best tasting components of the stevia leaf.

1 – Rebiana is 100% steviol glycosides, containing no less than 97% rebaudioside A.Rebaudioside A is the best-tasting steviol glycoside or sweet component found in the leaf of the stevia plant.
2 – In September 2009, the French government approved the use of rebaudioside A for up to a maximum of two years in food and beverages in France, based on a positive safety opinion by the Agence Française de Sécurité Sanitaire des Aliment (Afssa). In April 2010, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a positive Scientific Opinion confirming the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) for the safe consumption of steviol glycosides, determined by JECFA. European Union approval of steviol glycosides is pending and final approval is anticipated in 2011.
