“We’re proud to sponsor a festival that showcases some of the best Aboriginal talent in North America,” said Kelvin Shepherd, President, MTS. “At MTS, we seek to support festivals that celebrate Manitoba’s incredible diversity. The Manito Ahbee Festival assists in the growth and education of Aboriginal talent, something we strongly believe in lending our support and services to.”

Celebrating the music, arts, culture, and community of North America’s Aboriginal people, Manito Ahbee draws thousands of people to Winnipeg from across the continent.  Highlights of the five-day festival include an international powwow competition, the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards, and the Indigenous Marketplace and Trade Show – all held at the MTS Centre.

“We feel the impact of the festival reaches well beyond entertainment,” said Gloria Spence, General Manager, Manito Ahbee Festival. “It communicates an important message of understanding and celebrating Aboriginal culture.  We’re proud that Winnipeg is the host of something this important to our province and beyond.”

Going into its fifth year of celebration, MTS has been a sponsor of the Manito Ahbee Festival from the beginning in 2006.

Each year, MTS supports nearly 30 community festivals in Manitoba, celebrating the province’s incredible community and diversity.
