In an effort to support those who generate innovative, optimistic ideas, the Pepsi Refresh Project will award more than $1 Million in grants between now and next June to move communities forward. Individuals and organizations can apply for grants to benefit a variety of projects, and Canadians can vote for the best ideas for funding at www.refresheverything.ca. The Pepsi Refresh Project is an evolution of the Joy It Forward initiative Pepsi launched in 2009, which showed the brand as an optimistic catalyst for idea creation. Pepsi will fund projects that make a difference in six categories: Health, Arts & Culture, Food & Shelter, The Planet, Neighbourhoods and Education.
Luke Fritz, Winnipeg Blue Bombers:
My idea is to work with Winnipeg Harvest and their ‘Hunger for Hope’ program whose goal is to end child hunger in Manitoba. This grant will cover the cost of feeding all of the infants they support in Manitoba for an entire year – AND – will help contribute to the endowment fund to cover this cost for years to come. As a new father, I cannot imagine having my son go hungry. We are in a fortunate situation to be able to provide for him, but many families are not as fortunate.
