PwC celebrates its seventh year as a top employer

Today, Mediacorp Canada Inc. has recognized PwC as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2011. This recognition marks the first time a professional services firm has ever received the honours for seven consecutive years during the competition’s 11-year history.

“Our commitment to putting our people first is one of the main reasons why we have been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers year after year,” says Chris Clark, CEO and Canadian Senior Partner of PwC Canada. “For the past seven years, we’ve been honoured with this recognition, which reflects our continued efforts in investing in our people and making PwC an employer of choice.”

PwC was selected as a top employer based on its distinctive employee programs that focus on engaging and motivating them to do their best, and develop them to reach their full potential. The firm was also recognized for its comprehensive learning and development programs, competitive employee benefits, national and global career opportunities, and commitment to corporate responsibility.

Some of our employee programs and initiatives include:

Coaching, learning and development: We invest in our people’s personal and professional growth throughout their careers. We focus on practical, on-the-job learning experiences, combined with strong coaching, and a range of courses and mobility assignments.

Rewards and recognition: Our Marquee rewards and recognition programs celebrate employees who deliver great results and provide an outstanding experience for our people and clients.Acclaim, one of our rewards programs, recognized more than 90% of our people last year with ‘dollars in points’ which they can redeem for merchandise and services.

Community involvement: Our team volunteering program, the most recognizable initiative of the PwC Canada Foundation, engages our people in meaningful, day-long projects for worthwhile causes. In the fiscal year 2010, more than 40% of PwC employees participated in the program.

The 11th edition of Mediacorp Canada Inc.’s annual competition for “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” invited 12,500 employers to apply for the competition from a range of industries across the country. Participants were required to complete an extensive application process that includes a detailed review of operations, HR practices, charitable efforts and community involvement.
