Progressive Conservative Leader Hugh McFadyen issued the following statement today on the passing of Harry J. Enns:

“It was with heavy hearts that we learned Harry J. Enns passed away during the afternoon of June 24, 2010. Harry was a good-natured, passionate, down-to-earth person who lived his life to the fullest. Whether he was in the legislature or in his community, he was committed to giving nothing less than his best effort and working hard for the province of Manitoba.

Harry was fondly referred to as the ‘dean’ of the legislature and he served the constituents of Lakeside for 40 years. His passing is a loss that will be deeply felt throughout the province. On behalf of all our MLAs and Progressive Conservative Members, I would like to express our condolences to his loving wife Eleanor, and the entire Enns family. Our prayers are with them during their time of mourning.”
