Perrin Beatty, President and CEO, Canadian Chamber

As you may already know, this Thursday, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce will be hosting business leaders from around the globe at the G8/G20 Business Summit

The G8/G20 Business Summit will feature highly respected and influential international business leaders addressing pressing business issues and bringing forward their thoughts and solutions. Leaders such as Fujio Mitarai, chairman and chief executive officer of Canon Inc.; Heather Ridout, chief executive of the Australian Industry Group; Tom Donohue, president and chief executive officer of the United States Chamber of Commerce and other business leaders from G8 and G20 countries will offer opinions on issues critical to the health of businesses around the world.

International forums such as the G8 and G20 summits have become central to dealing with the complexity of finding solutions to international problems. Currently on the table are the economic recovery and measures to prevent future financial crises, ensuring an international economic framework that enables job creation, and global governance on climate change.

The work leading up to and decisions made at the G8 and G20 summits will have an impact on every Canadian. We are pleased to provide you with the opportunity to participate in the G8/G20 Business Summit through a live blog that we have set up for the event (please note that the blog is only available in English).

By going to our G8/G20 blog you will be able to get live updates on the speakers’ presentations, receive summaries of the discussions and post comments that may prove helpful as the Canadian Chamber continues to advance the business agenda with the prime minister and key federal departments in anticipation of the G8/20 summit taking place in Canada this June.

I encourage you all to get involved.

Sincerely,

Perrin
