With a new year, comes a new approach to education. In 2010 the I.H. Asper School of Business MBA Program and CMA Manitoba have combined forces to offer a joint concentration earning students both credentials in as little as two years.

Approved by the Senate of the University of Manitoba on January 7, 2010, this exciting new path offers the necessary foundation in strategy, management and accounting to individuals eager to transition into executive roles or further themselves in their current positions.

To obtain the CMA designation through the MBA-CMA Combined Program, candidates must complete the MBA program, the CMA Accelerated Program and pass the CMA evaluation points of the Entrance Exam, Case Exam and Board Report.

“If you are a professional who wants to have greater influence as a senior business leader you will truly be interested in the I.H. Asper MBA-CMA program. CMA’s expertise is grounded in the three pillars of accounting, management and strategy and each is extremely relevant in today’s business environment. The I.H. Asper School of Business MBA is a premiere MBA Program and the opportunity for CMA Manitoba to partner with the school is great for the University, for CMA and for the students,” said Ron Stoesz, CEO of CMA Manitoba.

Steve James, Executive Director of the Asper MBA Program agrees. “This is a tremendous opportunity for those interested in earning a Certified Management Accountant designation while earning an Asper MBA. This dual program will enable participants to remain in full-time positions and earn an income while pursuing their MBA-CMA.”

CMA Manitoba is a non-profit membership based organization that drives value creation by developing professionals and resources to lead the advancement and integration of strategy, accounting, and management.
