CCEC Awards Update – Changes Afoot!

May 20, 2009 | Government News

Working for a chamber of commerce or board of trade is satisfying enough without anyone telling you you’re doing a good job right?

But a little recognition doesn’t hurt!

Nominations are now open for the CCEC awards which recognize chamber managers and staff.  And this year, nominating has become a lot easier!

The CCEC nomination process has been changed into a two-step process, mirroring many local chamber business award programs.

Step 1:  A nomination form is completed identifying the nominee, the award category and a short explanation about why they should be nominated, signed by the nominator.  ANYONE can nominate a chamber manager or staff person for the awards – another chamber manager, a chamber volunteer, or a chamber staff person. Initial nominations must be in by May 31st.

Click here to access the form.

Step 2:  The CCEC Awards committee will contact the nominee to determine if they meet the eligibility criteria and if they accept the nomination.  If yes to both, they will be sent a package to complete which will gather the information required to judge the award.  This package will require an endorsement from the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Deadline for receipt of nominating package is June 30th.

While it will no longer be a secret that the nominee is in the running, the information provided will be more complete and more nominations will likely be received.  The judges’ decisions will not be shared until the awards are presented at the CCEC Annual Meeting so the element of surprise will return!

Don’t keep this to yourself!  Remember, a little bit of recognition goes a long way!
