Problem Solvers Ranked One of the Best in Canada for the Second time in 2009
Protegra has been recognized as one of this year’s top 75 Best Workplaces in Canada. Protegra ranks number 3 on the list and is the second year they have been included in the study. This distinction comes just 3 months after Protegra was named the number one small and medium business employer in Canada by the Globe and Mail and Queens School of Business.
The Best Workplaces designation represents a company with a distinct culture that continues to maintain good relationships throughout the entire organization and ensures that employees trust the people they work with and have pride in what they do.
“This is a great place to work because of everyone at Protegra, all of us together create this enduring culture,” says Wadood Ibrahim, CEO of Protegra. “Our approach to running a company and implementing Lean principles really focuses our attention on delivering value and eliminating waste. It’s these principles and the commitment to them that build a best workplace and successful projects.”
This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada at no charge to applicants. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 57-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
This year’s list received over 230 nominations and approximately 30,000 employees participated in the 2009 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
